LIFE IS NOISE Publicity is proud to announce Roundtable’s first ever East Coast Australian tour. The Melbourne medieval stoner doom trio will be slaying audiences in Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane this October.
Dread Marches Under Bloodied Regalia is a throwback to the prog rock, AOR records of the ’70s that also happens to be laced with some of the nastiest stoner riffery this side of Surrounded by Thieves. The leads and solos here are something else; as winding as you’d think they’d be with the prog rock leanings, but bearing the weight of primo stoner/psych... jam the whole damn album and bask in the oppressive pageantry of the Dark Ages
- Invisible Oranges
Roundtable want to take you on a journey. One full of adventure, conflict and loss, set to prodigious riffs and crushingly heavy percussion. Nodding to influences like Sleep, Wardruna and Earth, this three-piece mesh their love for classic, prog and folk with blackened and even krautrock ties—culminating in their debut offering, Dread Marches Under Bloodied Regalia.
Its narrative is engaging and heavy...takes the listener on a visceral journey. A solid album at its most creative.
- HEAVY Magazine
Dread Marches Under Bloodied Regalia is a fictional tale of greed, revenge and chaos set in a time reminiscent of historical Old English and Roman origins. An interesting and fantastical release, Roundtable’s focus on storytelling is used to build a sense of place—detail not often heard in modern stoner music today.
Receiving much critical acclaim, the album fared well in many end of year lists last year—coming in third at Hand Of Doom Radio and eighth in Doomed and Stoned’s best Australian Doom/Stoner/Occult Rock Releases of 2015.
I think it’s going to be a cult fav among metal lovers. And I have a hunch I’ll be revisiting it often—not only in the weeks ahead, but throughout my life. It’s just got a lot of depth and detail to it, from thoughtful musicians that make it worth caring about…and sharing.
- Doomed And Stoned
This October, Roundtable will face their most ambitious task yet—touring the East Coast. Marking their first big venture outside of Victoria, the three-piece will be playing select tracks from their debut and hints of new material, before they delve into writing their sophomore album later this year.
