Arc Of Ascent’s music will take you down psychedelic spiral. Tinged with stoner and doom tones, the New Zealand-based trio are currently working on the follow-up to 2012’s The Higher Key.

Supporting Ufomammut and Monolord in Auckland on October 4 at the Kings Arms with Reaving, we talked to frontman Craig Williamson as part of our Two Minutes With series.

Describe your music in five words or less?

Heavy, tranced, psychedelic and groove.
What’s going on in the world of Arc Of Ascent?

Moving slowly towards the top of the mountain called a new album.
What motivates you to make music?

What have been the high and low points of your musical experiences so far?

Finding talented people to play music with and losing talented people who I've played music with.
What music are you listening to at the moment?

If you were stranded on a desert island, which member of the band would get eaten first? And why?

Matt, he's the tallest.
Here’s an opportunity to bitch about something, whether music related or not. What really pisses you off?

Way too many things—animal welfare, ignorance, war, poverty and radical religious fucktards.
You’re putting together your perfect gig featuring New Zealand artists. Who would you get to play and where? Feel free to include acts/DJs/bands/venues that no longer exist.

I'd go back in time and see the Great Ngruawhaia music festival. That'd do it for me…1973!!!!
